Looking is both a way of perceiving the world and a process through which life becomes conscious of its own finitude. Eyes, flowing water and faces overlap in the images, revealing the relationship between human beings and the cosmos as a shared state of flux: neither the viewer nor what is viewed can remain still, and memory is reshaped with every act of recollection. When memory can no longer serve as stable evidence, the question “Who am I?” remains suspended between becoming and dissolution. A longing for rebirth emerges, carrying finite life’s hope for continuity and reunion. Yet does reappearance mean a true return? Dreams briefly connect different times, only for waking to reveal the illusory nature of these reunions. Moving back and forth between looking, memory and dreams, the film asks how life confronts impermanence, and why we continue to seek eternity in a world that is constantly passing away.
